Approach and anchoring
Enter the Rance from Saint-Malo through the tidal power station lock at La Richardais, then follow the buoyed channel upstream. Strong tidal streams on the turn. Mud bottom, good holding. Because the Rance barrage holds up the ebb, the depth here stays workable for a fin-keeled boat even near low water. Shore-limit buoys mark the edge of the foreshore. VHF 16.
Practical
About 25 moorings managed locally. The buoys are all white and the visitor ones are not clearly marked, so check locally before picking up, and a deep, heavy boat can anchor across on the far side instead. No fuel on site. Cale de la Landriais with small yard for wintering and careening. Port Minic and Le Minihic-sur-Rance both at 1 NM to the SW for shops and bakery.
History
The Landriais yard has built and maintained wooden sailing boats on the Rance since the nineteenth century and still houses the association Cale de la Landriais dedicated to maritime heritage restoration.
