Guide
Approach and anchoring
Open from the south-east round to the north-west. Under the order of 17 May 2018, anchoring within 300 m of the Trois-Îlets shore is only allowed inside the five buoyed mooring zones.
Practical
Small sand beach on the south side of the islet, but the islet is military land: any landing needs prior permission from the French Navy. A biotope protection order has covered the whole islet since April 2005.
History
The 18th-century fort on the flat summit, about 40 m up, was one of the batteries guarding the Baie de Fort-de-France, alongside Pointe des Nègres, Pointe du Bout and Fort Saint-Louis.
