Approach and anchoring
Fajou is zone 5 of the 2021 prefectoral order on the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin. Free anchoring is banned in the park core: only the identified mooring points may be used, some reserved for private yachts and some for tour operators. A buffer zone around the islet bans navigation, landing and anchoring inside its limits.
Practical
Sand bottom, sheltered from most directions except the south and south-west. Fishing, jet skis, drones without permission and lighting the islets at night are banned in the park core. Port-Louis is 5.2 miles to the north-east.
Ashore
The Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin holds the largest swamp forest in the Lesser Antilles and the longest coral barrier reef in the region. It has been a Ramsar wetland since 1993.
