Approach and anchoring

Approach by the canal at low speed. The halt is a long pontoon on the village side. The Pont-canal de Briare, one of the longest navigable aqueducts in Europe at 662 m, is about 10 km upstream for pleasure craft going up the canal.

Practical

Twenty berths with free water and electricity on the pontoon, no fuel on site. An adjacent campsite has showers and toilets, and there is a recycling point across the road by the bridge. Bakery, grocery, pharmacy and restaurants in the village within 400 m of the quay.

Ashore

Sancerre vineyards run along the opposite bank of the Loire, about 10 km south-east, with Pouilly-Fumé on the east bank of the river. Loire à Vélo cycle route passes through the village along the canal towpath.
