Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south along the cliffs of Porquerolles, protected from N, NE, E, SE, S and NW by the walls and exposed to the SW libeccio. The bottom is mostly rock, gravel and posidonia; the clear sand lies deep, roughly 12 to 15 metres, towards the east and the head of the cove, so drop there and lay plenty of chain. Some crews set the anchor and run two lines ashore. It shelters well in a settled easterly, but swell laps noisily at night, so it suits a calm-weather or daytime stop more than an overnight.

Practical

Port d'Auguier on the north shore of Porquerolles is 3,3 milles to the NW with visitor berths. Port de Porquerolles village is 1 mille to the N. Anchoring and mooring inside the national park are regulated; consult the current park order before mouillage.

Ashore

Inside the Parc national de Port-Cros, one of the oldest marine parks in Europe, created in 1963. Sentier des douaniers runs along the clifftops from the cove to the village of Porquerolles and to the Cap des Mèdes.
