Approach and anchoring

Approach from the open sea, but note an above-water rock off one side of the cove that is not marked. Drop on the sandy patches between the rock outcrops in 5 to 10 metres, keeping off the posidonia; holding is reasonable on sand and poor on rock. Space is limited and fills fast. Open to the south and to easterly and south-easterly swell, and the cove rolls with the wake of boats passing to and from the Lerins even in calm weather.

Practical

No services on site, though a vendor boat comes round with drinks and ice cream in summer. Crowded through the day, it empties in the evening, so a night berth is easier found late. Nearest shelter is Port de la Figueirette 1.9 NM north. Port d'Agay lies 3.1 NM south-west for fuel and provisioning.

Ashore

The small beach below the anchorage is naturist. This is a protected area within the Pelagos sanctuary where fishing is prohibited and checked, and the clear water over the rocks is rich in fish for snorkelling. Footpath climbs to the Pic du Cap Roux summit at 452 metres, one of the classic Esterel walks, starting from the chapel of Saint-Honorat above the anchorage. Red volcanic rock dominates the coastline.
