Bioluminescent bay 2 NM east of La Parguera, one of the three bays of its kind in Puerto Rico, inside the La Parguera nature reserve.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Mud bottom, sheltered from every sector. Since June 2023 a DRNA administrative order, number 2023-02, closes the bay for three full-moon nights in every lunar cycle, aimed at motor boats entering without a permit. Check the current rules with the DRNA before going in.
Practical
No facilities. Tour boats run out from La Parguera at night. Boat tours and coastal development have dimmed the glow, and this is now the most threatened of the three bays.
