Approach and anchoring

Enter from the south-east, a common wait for a fair tide through the Raz de Sein. Line up on about 25 degrees, the arch of the small bridge at the head of the cove against a white-gabled house, to clear the drying rocks and pebbles on the bar; rocks lie close on both sides and holding is not certain for everyone. Anchor on sand in 3 to 5 metres, best in a northerly. Exposure is limited to winds from the south and south-east, and swell runs in with any southerly fetch.

Practical

Water available ashore. No fuel, no chandlery. Nearest full-service harbour is Audierne, 3.9 NM east, then Pors Poulhan, 7.3 NM east.

Ashore

Plage du Loc'h on the west side of the cove, with a freshwater pond behind the shingle bar, and the creperie du Loc'h a short walk from the beach. GR 34 coastal path passes along the dune. Village of Plozévet with shops and café 2 km inland.
