Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the rade on a bearing between N and E. Sand with some weed, the anchor bites well in settled weather. Watch the small-boat mooring buoys laid in the cove. Brest-Marina du Chateau lies 2.9 NM to the NW and the Moulin Blanc anchorage 3 NM to the N if the wind veers W or NW.
Practical
Forain mooring, no pontoon. Water tap ashore. No fuel, no showers. Boulangerie and small shops in Le Relecq-Kerhuon, roughly 1 km inland.
Ashore
Land by dinghy on the small breakwater at the hamlet of Le Caro, which has no shops of its own. The GR34 coastal path runs along the shoreline towards the Pont Albert-Louppe and the Pont de l'Iroise, the twin bridges over the Elorn estuary 1.5 NM east. Le Relecq-Kerhuon centre and Sunday morning market within walking distance.
