Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the NE or NW outside the rocks of Les Équets. Fishing nets are laid across the eastern entrance of the cove, so keep to the middle on the way in. Anchor on sand in 3 to 5 metres inside the cove, clear of the rocks along the edges. Holding is good on sand, though a slight swell can still make it roll. Open to winds from E to SE, untenable in those conditions. It fills quickly on fine days.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no services. Le Becquet 2,4 nm SW has a drying fishing harbour. Cherbourg-en-Cotentin marina 6 nm W has 1 500 berths, fuel, boatyard and all services.
Ashore
Sentier des douaniers GR 223 runs along the cliffs above the anse, linking Fermanville west to Cap Lévi lighthouse 3 km east. The beach is the only sandy cove on this stretch of the Val de Saire coast.
