Approach and anchoring

Strong tidal streams around Cap Fréhel, plan the approach at slack water. Drop the hook on sand between kelp patches in 3 to 6 metres at low water; the spring range tops 10 metres. Sheltered from N and NE, open to the south-west. The current runs parallel to the shore and starts boats rolling even in calm weather, so anchor towards the Cap Fréhel side and lie across the chop. A rock on the way to the Pointe de Fort la Latte is dangerous around low water on big spring tides.

No services. Saint-Cast - Port d'Armor marina 3.2 NM south-east with all services. Les Hôpitaux drying anchorage 4.7 NM west for local shelter.

Ashore

GR 34 coastal path skirts the cliffs, the Sentier des Douaniers stage between Cap Fréhel and Fort la Latte passes above the cove. Fort la Latte medieval fortress open to visitors about 2 km east, built in the 14th century on its rocky promontory.
