Approach and anchoring
Access via the canalised Scheldt between Denain and Bouchain. Class Va gauge on this reach. Maximum draught 2.50 m. No tide. Commercial barge traffic remains regular, keep the right-hand side of the channel. The reach just short of this spot is shallow and boats drawing about 1.20 m have touched the bottom, though there is enough water at the mooring itself.
Practical
Wild mooring against the bank, no pontoon or services. A shop about 1 km away on foot, and more in Denain 2 km south by road. Railway station at Lourches with local trains to Valenciennes and Cambrai.
Ashore
A fishing pond lies close to the mooring and there are walks in the surrounding woods.
