Guide
Approach and anchoring
Whitestone Rock lies in the waters near Sitka, in the channels around Neva Strait. The approach is unmarked. Anchor over a mixed bottom of rock and mud, well in for shelter, and confirm the anchor is set before leaving the deck. Baranof Dock lies 25.5 miles to the east.
Practical
No facilities. The bottom is rock and mud, so holding is variable; set the anchor with care. The anchorage is sheltered from north-east through south-east and lies open to the western quarter.
