- Harbour
Town of Islip bayfront park on the Great South Bay at West Islip, with seasonal berths, a launch ramp and a swimming beach.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Great South Bay off the southern end of Beech Drive. Shallow approach typical of the bay's north shore, so check the tide on a deep-draught boat. Berths and the ramp are for permit holders, with a Town of Islip recreation card required.
Practical
Seasonal berths and a rebuilt launch ramp, with a new bulkhead on the west side after recent works. There is a lifeguarded beach, restrooms, picnic tables, parking and a fishing pier. No fuel berth on site.
Ashore
Views across the bay to the Robert Moses and Captree bridges and Ocean Parkway. A pirate-ship playground and shaded picnic areas sit beside the beach.
