Approach and anchoring

Anchor north of the Titusville mooring field, clear of the marked ICW channel, in depths around 7 feet where holding is good once the anchor sets. The Max Brewer bridge crosses just to the south. The fetch down the wide Indian River builds chop in a blow, so a mooring is the safer choice when a norther is forecast.

Practical

Titusville Marina lies 0.4 nm SW with fuel, water and a managed mooring field, charged by the day or the week. Westland Boatyard and Marina is also 0.4 nm SW and handles haul-out and repairs. Shops and supermarkets are within walking distance of the marina.

Ashore

The waterfront here looks straight across the Indian River at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral, and the anchorage is a known vantage point for watching rocket launches. The American Space Museum is about 0.5 mile from the marina in downtown Titusville. Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge lies across the river.
