Approach and anchoring
The run to the Gulf of Mexico is around 8 miles, all on inland waters through Freshwater Bayou. The Freshwater Bayou lock lies on the route and waits are usually short.
Practical
Ice, fuel, a concrete launch ramp and a fish cleaning table. Berth rentals and boat shed rentals are for members only. The launch and parking areas are camera monitored. The marina was formerly known as Acadiana Marina.
Ashore
Pecan Island sits on cheniers, sandy ridges covered with pecan and live oak in the coastal marsh. Local charters fish for redfish and speckled trout in Vermilion Bay and the nearby bayous.
