Guide
Approach and anchoring
From the Columbia River, take the Multnomah Channel south from St. Helens for about 3 nm, then enter Scappoose Bay through the marked channel. Shallow water on the bay margins; stay in the channel at low water.
Practical
Public boat launch with three ramp lanes and around 100 vehicle and trailer parking spaces. Separate dock for kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. Wet moorage, kayak rentals and a paddling centre on site.
Ashore
Scappoose Bay Marine Park surrounds the marina with flat trails through wetlands managed by the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership. Salmon and sturgeon fishing within 1 to 2 nm of the launch, with spring Chinook, coho and steelhead runs.
