Approach and anchoring
Inland freshwater berthing in the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta, no tide to manage. Approach from Dutch Slough just south of the Bethel Island Bridge. Visiting boats should call ahead to the Port Captain on 925 489 3254 to check availability.
Practical
Members' facility chartered in 1948, serving around 270 members. Reciprocal visits welcomed for boats from other yacht clubs by prior arrangement. Address: 550 Riverview Place, Bethel Island. No public fuel berth on site.
History
Founded in 1948, the club sits on Bethel Island, which only became a true island in 1911 when Dutch Slough was dredged eastward to meet Sandmound Slough. The island is named after Frank and Warren Bethell, who set up Sand Mound Ranch in the 19th century.
