Approach and anchoring
Access via the Charente, navigable on the tidal section up to Saint-Savinien lock. Limited air draught under the bridges of the lower Charente, check clearance before proceeding upstream.
Practical
Basic river halt, no fuel, no chandlery. Used as a short stop. Port d'Envaux 1.9 NM north-west and Saintes 4.6 NM south both offer more complete facilities.
Ashore
Riverside path along the Charente, part of the Flow Vélo cycle route. Village of Saint-Vaize about 1 km from the bank. Roman city of Saintes 4.6 NM south, with the Arch of Germanicus and the amphitheatre of Mediolanum Santonum.
