Approach and anchoring
Open lake approach, no tide. Basin sheltered by a breakwater on the eastern side of town. Harbour office on duty 0800 to 2100 from 1 July to 15 August, full season 1 May to 15 October. Harbour master on 989-734-3808.
Practical
54 transient berths and 92 seasonal berths, overflow space when busy. Diesel and petrol on the fuel berth, two pump-out machines, fish cleaning station, heads with showers cleaned daily, laundry and free Wi-Fi.
Ashore
An 11-mile paved path runs north along Lake Huron from the marina to the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse. P. H. Hoeft State Park beach and 142-site campground are 8 km north-west. The Calcite limestone quarry viewing platform is 3 km south of town.
History
Marina built in the early 1950s alongside Rogers City, the company town raised in 1910 by the Michigan Limestone and Chemical Company. The Calcite quarry next door has been worked since 1912 and remains one of the largest open-pit limestone operations in the world.
