Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Tennessee River main channel near the Steamboat Bill Memorial Bridge. Floating pontoons with around 10 ft of water at the berths, suitable for cruisers transiting the Tenn-Tom Waterway between Mile 296 and Wheeler Dam. No tidal range, lake levels controlled by TVA.
Practical
Over 100 wet berths on floating pontoons, fuel berth with petrol, fresh water, 30 and 50 amp shore power, pump-out, showers and toilets, and a chandlery. The Hard Dock restaurant is on site for casual meals on the water.
Ashore
Point Mallard Park, with its swimming complex and walking trails, is 5 km east. Decatur city centre, with restaurants and grocery stores, sits 6 km north across the river. The Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, a major sandhill crane wintering site, lies 12 km west.
