Tribal marina at La Push, on the Quileute Reservation at the mouth of the Quillayute River. Only harbour of refuge between Neah Bay and Westport, on a 100 nm stretch of Pacific coast.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Quillayute River between the rock breakwater and James Island. The bar can be steep and breaking in westerly swell; check NOAA conditions before crossing. Marina lies on the south bank behind the breakwater.
Practical
40 to 60 berths up to 15 metres on refurbished A and B pontoons with new steel piling. Fuel berth, pump-out, fresh water, shore power, showers, restrooms and laundry. Maintenance workshop on site. New launch ramp.
Ashore
First Beach 300 metres west of the marina, on Quileute tribal land. Second Beach reached by a 1.2 km trail south through Olympic National Park forest. Third Beach 2.6 km hike from the trailhead off La Push Road.
History
La Push has been home to the Quileute Tribe for thousands of years. The harbour serves the tribal commercial salmon and halibut fleet alongside sport fishing charters.
