Approach and anchoring
Approach along the canal, speed limit 6 km/h. Quay on the right bank close to the village centre. Locks are operated by VNF; opening hours vary by season, typically 09:00 to 19:00 in summer with a lunch break.
Practical
Free quay mooring for a short stay, drinking water available in the village. Bakery, grocery and post office within 300 m. No fuel pontoon on site; nearest services at Ravières village shops.
Ashore
Church of Saint-Pantaléon, classified monument since 1913, with a 12th century Burgundian Romanesque choir and a 15th century flamboyant portal, in the village 300 m from the quay. Yonne river and towpath for walks alongside the canal. Vineyards of the Tonnerrois at around 10 km to the north-west.
History
Ravières was listed as one of the principal ports of the Canal de Bourgogne in a 19th century engineer report, when the canal carried timber, wine and stone between the Yonne and the Saône.
