Freshwater port on the Lac de Paladru in Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The lake is 5.9 km long and 1 km wide, the fifth largest natural lake in France, set at 492 m of altitude.

Approach and anchoring
Pure lake navigation, no tidal constraint. The Lac de Paladru is privately owned and managed by the Société du Lac de Paladru, which requires every boat to hold a navigation permit available daily, monthly or annually online. Speed is limited and motor use regulated. No marked channels, but the lake is small enough to navigate by eye.
Practical
Small pontoon facilities in the Villages du Lac de Paladru commune. Pedal boats, paddle boards and small sailing dinghies rented by Plaisilac on the public beach. The Yacht Club Grenoble Charavines on the opposite west shore runs sailing courses for children aged 4 to 15 in July and August. Bakery, grocery and restaurants in Charavines and Paladru villages.
Ashore
Musée archéologique du lac de Paladru in Charavines at around 2 km by the lakeside path, opened in 2022, displays the wooden structures and objects recovered from the medieval site of Colletière. Walking loop around the whole lake, 15 km signposted. Grande Chartreuse monastery at 25 km for a day by road.
History
The Lac de Paladru contains two submerged archaeological sites, the Neolithic stations of Les Baigneurs from around 2700 BC and the 11th century settlement of Colletière, preserved in the anaerobic mud of the lake and excavated from the 1970s onwards. Colletière was abandoned around 1040 when the lake rose by several metres.
