Approach and anchoring
Marked entrance from Lake Huron at the north end of the peninsula. Approach depth 12 ft, dockside 9 ft. Fixed and floating pontoons. Reservations via the Michigan DNR booking system. Open mid-May to mid-September. Tel. 989-738-8712 in season.
Practical
74 berths with 59 transient places. Petrol and diesel fuel berth, pump-out, 50 A shore power, fresh water, showers, toilets, laundry, ice, Wi-Fi, marine supplies, dog run, picnic tables and grills, long-term parking, on-site boat ramp. Visitor centre and beachfront pavilion at Veterans Park.
Ashore
Downtown Port Austin shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Kayak launches for the 7-mile round-trip paddle to Turnip Rock and the Broken Rocks sea caves. Port Crescent State Park 5 km west on M-25 with 3 miles of Lake Huron beach and the Pinnebog River dunes.
