Approach and anchoring
Reached by the Tarn from the downstream navigable section. The river is controlled by the Rivières dam and lock just above the port, which regulates the reach used by the marina. Navigation is limited to the impounded stretch around Aiguelèze, check stage levels before departure.
Practical
Pontoon berths for river cruisers and motor boats, water and electricity on the pontoons. Boat hire base on site for river day trips on the Tarn. Restaurant and hotel at the port. Village of Rivières with basic shops within walking distance.
Ashore
Gaillac vineyards around the port, one of the oldest wine regions in France with AOC Gaillac whites, reds and sparkling wines. Medieval bastide of Castelnau-de-Montmiral 10 km north on its hilltop, classified among the Plus Beaux Villages de France. Albi 25 km east, with the brick cathedral of Sainte-Cécile and the Toulouse-Lautrec museum, both part of the UNESCO listed episcopal city.
