Approach and anchoring

Packery Channel links the Gulf of Mexico to Corpus Christi Bay, bordered by two jetties and separating Mustang Island from Padre Island. The channel connects to the Padre Island residential canal system. It suits small craft; watch the current and the jetty ends on a Gulf entry.

Practical

Sand bottom. A county park alongside the channel has a boat ramp and the Oak Motte wildlife sanctuary. Marker 37 Marina lies 2.6 nm NW and Padre Island Yacht Club 2.9 nm W, both with berths and provisioning.
