Approach and anchoring

The club sits at the mouth of Rock Creek, with the Patapsco River on one side and the creek on the other. The basin is well protected, with about 15 feet on approach and 12 feet dockside. Fairview Marina lies 0.2 mile to the south-east.

Practical

120 fixed berths, of which 25 are transient. Petrol and diesel at the fuel berth. Bath houses, laundry and a members' pool, with a pavilion on the grounds. Transient rate around 2.75 dollars per foot per day.

History

Founded in 1908 as the Maryland Motor Boat Club on the Middle Branch of the Patapsco. It took its present name in 1919 when sailors joined, and moved to Rock Creek in 1945. In the early 1920s the Violet, a former yacht of President Grover Cleveland, served as its floating clubhouse.
