Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club
- Type
- Harbour
Private yacht club at Beach Haven on Long Beach Island, on the protected waters of Little Egg Harbor in southern New Jersey.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sited on the bay side of Beach Haven, on the sheltered waters of Little Egg Harbor inside Long Beach Island. Reciprocal members and visiting yachts should call ahead, as the club is private. Berthing is in shallow bay water, so check draught against local depths.
Practical
Member berths and a strong dinghy racing programme rather than a transient marina. Junior and adult sailing run from Optimists, Lasers and Club 420s up to E-Scows, Lightnings and Marshall Sanderling catboats.
History
Founded in July 1912 by Beach Haven summer residents. The club has hosted regional, national and international regattas, including US Sailing's Mallory, Adams and O'Day championships.
