Marina on Lake Red Rock, a reservoir on the Des Moines River near Pella in Marion County, Iowa. It is the largest lake in the state.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
On the north-west side of the lake, close to the Red Rock Dam. Lake Red Rock was formed in 1969 when the US Army Corps of Engineers completed the dam, and has around 160 miles of shoreline.
Practical
The marina has a fuel berth, boat and pontoon rentals, a ship store and shower facilities. It serves a mix of small craft, sailing boats and powerboats.
Ashore
The town of Pella, known for its Dutch heritage, is a short drive away. The lake is a Corps of Engineers park used for fishing and watersports, and white pelicans pass through on migration in spring and autumn.
