Reservoir on the Ain river behind the Allement dam, on the boundary of Hautecourt-Romanèche and Poncin, in the Ain department.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Freshwater plan d'eau about 6 km long, no sea access. Launch slip and small harbour on the south bank at the base de loisirs. Navigation limited to vessels under 6 hp except for permit holders, as on most French inland reservoirs.
Practical
Base nautique with dinghy moorings, launch slip and car park. Sailing and paddle school on site. No fuel berth. Bar and snack open in season at the base.
Ashore
Walking loop around the reservoir, about 8 km. Cycling along the Ain gorge on the Via Rhôna branch. Swimming beach supervised in July and August at the base de loisirs.
