Anchorage in Kitoi Bay on the south coast of Afognak Island, about 30 miles north of Kodiak, off the west side of Izhut Bay.

Approach and anchoring
Holding is on mud. Shelter covers the NW, N, W and SW sectors, leaving the bay open to the east and south-east.
Practical
No facilities for visiting boats. A salmon hatchery operates at the head of the bay, run by the Kodiak Regional Aquaculture Association on Afognak Native Corporation land.
History
A hatchery was built at Kitoi Bay in 1954 by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, destroyed in the 1964 earthquake, and rebuilt by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in 1965. It produces pink, chum, coho and sockeye salmon for the Kodiak area.
