Boatyard at the north end of the Point Pleasant Canal on Bay Avenue, where the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway meets Barnegat Bay.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Point Pleasant Canal, the 1.8 mile cut linking the Manasquan River to Barnegat Bay. The canal carries strong tidal currents between two lift bridges, and charts advise passage at slack water. Heavy boat traffic and wakes within the steel bulkheaded channel.
Practical
Full service boatyard with a 100 ton marine railway, slips for summer and winter, and covered in-water storage. Shore power at 15, 20, 30 and 50 amp, fresh water, pumpout, showers, laundry and a chandlery. Engine, electrical, carpentry and fibreglass work on site.
History
The yard has serviced boats for more than 100 years and now operates jointly with Carver Boat Works on the same stretch of the canal.
