Approach and anchoring
Freshwater lake access only, no tidal constraints. Geist Reservoir is mostly under 3 metres deep with a maximum of around 14 metres near the dam. Speed limits and no-wake zones apply close to shore. Sailing is concentrated on the open waters of the main basin.
Practical
Members-only club founded in 1956 at 12900 Fall Creek Road, McCordsville. Heated pool from 1 May to 30 September, member grill and bar, event venue for up to 200 guests. Social and boating memberships from around 745 USD per year.
History
The club was established in 1956 as a boating and social organisation on Geist Reservoir, an impoundment built in 1943 by damming Fall Creek to supply drinking water to Indianapolis. The current clubhouse, locally known as The Castle, was built in 1998.
