Approach and anchoring

Reached from the Chester River side of Kent Narrows. The R. Clayton Mitchell highway bridge carries a fixed 65ft clearance over the marked centre channel; the Route 18 bascule bridge just south clears 18ft closed and opens on the hour and half-hour from 6am to 9pm, May to October. Current runs hard through the cut and depths shoal at both ends.

Practical

Yard work is the focus here: haul-outs with a travel lift rated to 75 tons, a forklift, year-round land and water storage, bottom painting, fibreglass and gelcoat repair. Slip rentals available. Established in 1986 at 106 Wells Cove Road.

Ashore

The Kent Narrows seafood houses sit within walking distance, including Harris Crab House and Fisherman's Crab Deck where boaters tie up at the table. Route 50 and Annapolis are a short drive west across the Bay Bridge.
