Approach and anchoring
Lake Onalaska is the 7,688-acre impoundment formed by Lock and Dam 7 on the Mississippi. The deepest entrance is the South Entrance near river mile 702.7, with more than 10 feet of controlling depth. Other channels through the lake are narrow corridors cut through dense aquatic vegetation and barrier islands.
Practical
Address 132 Marina Drive, La Crosse. Members-only club, visitor access at the discretion of the harbour master. Public marinas with diesel and visitor berths are available elsewhere on Pool 7.
Ashore
Downtown La Crosse is about 5 km south by road across the Black River. Great River State Trail for cycling runs north along the Mississippi from Onalaska. Wisconsin Great River Road follows the river both ways.
