Approach and anchoring
Enter the Multnomah Channel from the Willamette and head down the south bank. A large sign on the bank marks the marina. Position 45 37 09 N, 122 48 14 W. No tidal restriction; expect a steady downstream current.
Practical
200 berths for boats from 10 to 100 feet, daily, monthly and annual moorage when space allows. Petrol fuel berth, snack shop, bait and tackle, fishing licences, toilets. Address 12800 NW Marina Way, Portland OR 97231. TowBoatUS Portland is based here since 2023.
Ashore
Sauvie Island wildlife area across the channel, with farm stands and beaches on the lower island in summer. Linnton village on the Willamette ridge above the channel, basic shops at 2 km by road.
History
Fred's Marina was opened in 1946 and has stayed in family operation since.
