State-run marina at the entrance of the main channel into West Harbor, on the Lake Erie shore at Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Lies just inside the buoyed channel leading to West Harbor from Lake Erie. Dockside depth is around 1.5 metres, so deeper-draught yachts should check water levels before entering. Unlimited horsepower waters offshore.
Practical
Roughly 125 berths for seasonal and transient boats taking yachts up to 12 metres LOA, with 30 amp shore power. There is a fuel pier with petrol and a pump-out, a launch ramp and a restaurant. Several charter captains are based here.
Ashore
The marina sits within walking distance of East Harbor State Park, which has a swimming beach, around 11 km of hiking trails, picnic areas and a disc golf course. Walleye, yellow perch and smallmouth bass are the main catch in these waters.
