Approach and anchoring
Reach Lake Monroe via the St Johns River from Jacksonville. Lake Monroe is shallow outside the marked channels: keep to the buoys. Marina entrance on the south shore, west of the SR 17-92 bridge. VHF channel 16, working channel 71.
Practical
236 berths, vessels to 38 metres LOA. 30 and 50 amp shore power, fresh water, pumpout, wireless internet on the pontoons. Fuel berth with 89 to 93 octane and ethanol-free petrol. Office open daily 0800 to 1700. Daily transient rate around 2 USD per foot.
Ashore
Sanford RiverWalk along the lakefront from the marina. Historic downtown Sanford, with restaurants and breweries, starts at 300 m from the docks. Central Florida Zoo at 5 km. Wekiva Island and the Wekiva River paddle trail at 25 km by road.
History
First marine facility in Florida to hold the Clean Marina, Clean Boatyard and Clean Retailer designations from the state programme.
