Small municipal marina on the Oregon bank of the lower Columbia River at Rainier, opposite Longview, Washington, just downstream of the Lewis and Clark Bridge.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Marina at the east end of town, public boat ramp 800 m west next to the city park. Strong tidal current on the lower Columbia. Transient dock open to non-commercial vessels up to 40 ft, by reservation with city hall, up to 72 hours.
Practical
Berths for vessels up to 26 ft. No fuel, shore power or water on the dock. Boat launch fee 5 dollars per day, annual pass 70 dollars at city hall, 106 W B Street. Phone 503-556-4027.
Ashore
Rainier town centre within 500 m. Lewis and Clark Bridge opened in 1930, the longest cantilever span in the United States at the time, visible upstream from the marina.
