Guide
Approach and anchoring
Holding on sand calls for a well set anchor and a check of the swing in fresh weather. The anchorage is sheltered from north through east round to the southerly quarter and open to the south. Charlevoix Marina lies 28 miles to the south-east, the nearest mainland refuge.
Ashore
The island village of St James sits at its northern end, served by the car ferry from Charlevoix and grouped around a harbour where provisions, fuel and water are available. The Beaver Island Harbor lighthouse stands at the harbour entrance.
