Guide
Approach and anchoring
Mud and weed bottom, sheltered from north-east through south-east. Resurrection Bay turns choppy on most afternoons with the rising wind, so the cove is used as a respite from the swell. Seward lies 7.8 miles to the north-west for the nearest harbour.
Practical
No marine facilities at the anchorage. The state marine park has two public-use cabins, Porcupine Glacier and Spruce Glacier, and fresh water can be drawn from the stream flowing off Porcupine Glacier.
Ashore
Porcupine Glacier rises above the cove, with rock faces and waterfalls along the shore. The marine park is reached only by boat, floatplane or water taxi.
