Approach and anchoring
Sits on the Fore River frontage of Portland Harbour, among the city's commercial docks. Reached through the main harbour approach off Casco Bay.
Practical
Major refits, restorations, hull repair, engine work, electrical and a full rigging shop with swage machine and load-testing bench. Haul-out on a 330-ton Travelift, plus a 45-ton hydraulic trailer and a 30-ton yard crane for stepping and unstepping masts. Indoor and outdoor storage. Yard office on 207 774-1067.
History
Founded in 1981 by Phineas Sprague Jr. and Joanna Sprague, the yard has grown into one of the larger marine service operations on the Maine coast.
