Approach and anchoring

Reached via the southern branch of the Canal du Rhône au Rhin, between Belfort and the Alsace plain. Max draught around 1.8 m. Freycinet gauge, watch the lock schedule managed by VNF.

Practical

About 10 berths on pontoons above the lock. Water and electricity terminals are fitted and were once paid for by bank card at a machine, around 7 euros, but the newer units have recently been out of order, with no overnight fee then collected. A Colruyt supermarket in the village covers provisioning, with Belfort around 10 km west for more.

Ashore

Book ahead at the restaurant La Péniche by the canal, even midweek. Towpath cycling and walking along the canal link to the EuroVelo 6 network. Village church and rural countryside of the Trouée de Belfort gap between the Vosges and Jura ranges.
