Guide
Approach and anchoring
Anchor on sand in about 8 metres outside the harbour, on rock closer to the cliff, so keep well off the shore where a broad rocky shelf runs out. Protection from N, NE and NW, and it holds well even in a strong NW, but the swell rolls straight in from S and SE. Approach from the south, clear of the rocky headlands on either side. Space is limited and there is no night lighting.
Practical
Water point available. A small dock by the harbour takes a tender for landing or picking up guests. Fuel and full services not on site: the Société Nautique les Figuières is 0.5 NM E, Carry-le-Rouet 3 NM W for diesel. Train station of Ensuès-la-Redonne on the Marseille to Miramas coastal line, a 15-minute walk uphill.
Ashore
Calanque d'Ensuès-la-Redonne immediately north of the port. The Sentier des Douaniers crosses the village and links Niolon to Carry-le-Rouet along the cliffs. Village bakery and small grocery at the top of the hill, a stiff climb up a steep road from the water.
