Approach and anchoring

Approach from the SW, staying clear of the rocks off the Pointe de Penvins to the S, and watch the depth and the pebbles close in to starboard, as the water shoals near the beach. Bottom of weed over sand; drop on clear patches and check the set. A large, busy sailing-school area is reserved by day and crews are sometimes asked to move on, so anchor clear of it. Shelter from N through NE to E and NW. Fully exposed to S and SW; untenable in onshore winds.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. Port du Crouesty 0.5 NM N has 1 200 berths, fuel, water and a full-service marina. Port Navalo 1.2 NM NW is the alternative at the mouth of the gulf.

Ashore

Plage du Fogeo is a sand beach 800 m long, supervised in July and August. Coastal path to the Pointe de Penvins with its 19th century chapel at 4 km S, and to Port du Crouesty at 1 km N. Bakery and small grocery at Arzon village 1.5 km inland.
