Guide
Approach and anchoring
Leeward coast of Basse-Terre. Anchor in about 4 to 5 m on dark sand that holds well but hides the bottom, in a pocket with room for only a boat or two. Fish traps are set around the entrance. Despite the lee, a westerly, southerly or easterly swell works in and the anchorage rolls more than its position suggests. Watch the afternoon breeze funnelling down the Soufrière slopes.
Practical
Fresh water and showers on the beach. A small beach restaurant opens on some evenings, but is not always trading. No other services on site.
