Former marina of the Captain Oliver's resort in Oyster Pond, on the east coast of Saint-Martin, destroyed by Hurricane Irma in 2017.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Oyster Pond is entered from the Atlantic side through a pass in the reef. Cruisers report the channel unbuoyed and charted depths unreliable, with 2 metres found where 10 were shown. Under a France and Netherlands treaty of May 2023 the border now runs down the middle of the pond and its entrance.
Practical
The marina was destroyed by Irma and reports since 2019 describe no rebuilding. The pre-hurricane figures on Navily, 160 berths, fuel and VHF 67, should not be relied on. Check its status before planning a stop.
