Approach and anchoring

Entered from Long Island Sound through the bay between Centre Island and Cove Neck. Mud bottom with good holding. The bay is well enclosed and sheltered from all directions.

Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club lies 0.8 nautical miles east and operates a boatyard and 35 moorings. Bridge Marina and Watersport Rentals is 1.1 nautical miles west. Provisions and shops are available in the village of Oyster Bay.

History

The Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club was founded in September 1871 aboard the sloop Glance, anchored off Centre Island. Its clubhouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
