Guide

Approach and anchoring

Access from the lake only, no tidal constraint. The lake is closed to the sea and reserved for inland boating. Navigation is limited to craft registered for inland waters. The harbour entrance is shallow and weedy in places, so approach slowly and watch the depth.

Practical

Parentis village centre with shops, bakery and supermarket lies about 500 m from the quay. Port of Parentis-en-Born is 0.3 nm to the SE and Port Les Sandres at Gastes 2.4 nm to the SW.

Ashore

Forest cycle paths of the Vélodyssée cross the commune and skirt the eastern shore of the lake. The oil museum of Parentis, linked to the onshore oil field discovered in 1954, sits in the village.
